About the lesson

I tailor my lessons according to the needs and level of preparation of each student. My intention is to support students in developing a clear and effective writing style and gain ease in producing well-presented, accurate and insightful academic work on their own. I teach a simple and effective method of writing that students can quickly learn, master and eventually apply on their own in any written assignment and necessity. My teaching method starts from a close reading of the student's work sample in order to individuate any weakness or flaw to then work on. If the student contacts me at the beginning of her or his writing process, we focus on discussing the topic of the work and brainstorming so as to come up with as many ideas as possible and strategies to start developing and structuring an argument. By encouraging the memorization of specific and academic vocabulary and the learning of useful writing patterns and structures to organize an argument, I strive to share a simple and concise writing style easy to memorize and employ. While clarifying any doubts or confusion regarding academic writing, I teach students a clear and effective way of structuring essays and developing strong arguments. Through a combination of writing, proofreading and grammar study, students acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence to produce well-presented and clearly written texts in line with academic standards.
I am eager to tutor students in their undergraduate or postgraduate degrees who have difficulties in effectively developing strong arguments and structuring academic work as essays and dissertations. By offering the possibility of proofreading the student's work step-by-step, I ensure the quality of work produced and provide assistance and guidance throughout the whole writing process. I am available to provide final proofreading too of essays and dissertations so as to ensure grammatical accuracy, correct formatting and fluency of argument.

About Bianca

I am a History of Art and Japanese Studies graduate. Having achieved an overall First every year of university, I possess an in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience of academic writing. I have been giving one-to-one tutoring lessons since secondary school especially to help students with a variety of written tasks such as essay writing and cover letters.
