"Loftier Horse" is a vocal written and recorded by American country music vocalist and songwriter Kacey Musgraves for her fourth studio anthology, Golden Hour (2018). Musgraves co-wrote the song with Trent Dabbs and Tom Schleiter, and co-produced the runway with Ian Fitchuk and Daniel Tashian. Information technology was first released as a digital promotional single on March 22, 2018, and afterwards impacted American hot adult gimmicky radio on June 25, 2018, as the album'southward 3rd official single. Critical reception [edit]

Margaret Farrell of Pitchfork praised the song's give-and-take play and fusion of disco and country sounds, writing that Musgraves "sure makes a great pop star," and "has opened upwards a fascinating new door for herself."[2] Jude Rogers of The Guardian singled out "High Horse" equally a highlight of Musgraves's concert at the Bristol Hippodrome in the Britain, writing that the runway "shows how land can exist melded brilliantly with belatedly-70s, Chic-like disco, pointing towards a style with which Musgraves could truly conquer the world."[4] Michael Watkins of Nether the Radar praised the songwriting on the track, writing that "tracks like "Butterflies" and "High Horse" offer the best of what Musgraves can practice in terms of balancing her obvious charm against a certain steely underbelly."[v] Stereogum ranked the song at number two on their listing of the five all-time songs of the calendar week following its release, calling it "her virtually fun vocal yet."[vi]
